Article 1

Purpose of the Committee

In order to fulfill the objectives of the Keio SFC Academic Society (hereinafter referred to as “the Society”) as stipulated separately, the Society’s Committee for General Publications shall handle operations related to the publication of various materials. This Committee may establish a Publication Review Committee (hereinafter referred to as “the Review Committee”) as necessary.

Article 2

Publication Categories and Content

Publications by the Society are categorized as follows:

(1) Research Memo

A report of research or investigation conducted by an individual or group that has not been previously published. This includes collections of papers and research group reports. The principal investigator of the Research Memo must clearly indicate the content of the selected papers and the roles of the authors, or structure the publication in a way that makes this discernible. In principle, works funded by endowed courses or external grants are not eligible.

  • Research group reports should be self-published by each group or made publicly available online. Requests for publication through the Society should be considered a last resort, and applicants should clarify the academic merit of the work and ensure that it is selectively chosen.
(2) Outstanding Research Seminar Papers

Papers written by individuals or groups recognized as particularly outstanding by a supervising faculty member and not previously published.

(3) Outstanding Master's Theses

Master’s theses recognized as outstanding by the supervising faculty member and not previously published.

(4) Doctoral Dissertations

Doctoral dissertations recognized by the supervising faculty member as requiring publication and not previously published.

(5) Others (e.g., Student Papers Recommended by Faculty)

Papers written by students (in the Faculty of Policy Management, Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, or Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care) or graduate students (in the Graduate School of Media and Governance or Graduate School of Health Management), either individually or in groups, that have not been previously published.

(6) Publication Subsidy for Doctoral Dissertations, etc.

Works that are doctoral dissertations or other scholarly works of equivalent or greater academic value, which the supervising faculty member deems to have significant societal value through publication. The work must not have been previously published and must be scheduled for publication by a recognized publisher.

(7) "KEIO SFC JOURNAL"

Based on separately established publication guidelines.

(8) "KEIO SFC REVIEW"

Based on separately established publication guidelines.

  • To reduce volume, please structure and write manuscripts as concisely as possible and avoid redundancy.
