About Keio SFC Academic Society


Outline

Keio SFC Academic Society is a society which aims to promote research and educational activities for Faculty of Policy Management, Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care, Graduate School of Media and Governance and Graduate School of Health Management, and to deepen the interchange between Keio University and outside the university. The society is organized, in principle, by the faculty members of three faculties and two graduate schools to support the research and educational activities of SFC through presenting the output of research and educational activities by research memo and research monograph, publications such as excellent research project paper by undergraduate student, excellent master thesis and doctoral dissertation, and also by holding a symposium.

Also, we publish "KEIO SFC REVIEW" for the purpose of dispatching a message from university as a research institute to the society and academic publication "KEIO SFC JOURNAL" for the purpose of notifying an outcome of academic research in SFC. Furthermore, we are planning to aggressively support the research network, research forum and other activities which are composed and hosted by the members and help ensuring the venues for these activities.

Article 1
This society is to be called Keio SFC Academic Society

Article 2
Keio SFC Academic Society is a society which aims to promote research and educational activities for Faculty of Policy Management, Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care, Graduate School of Media and Governance and Graduate School of Health Management, and to deepen the interchange between Keio University and outside the university.

Article 3

  1. Keio SFC Academic Society set full member, associate member, student member and honorary member.
  2. In principle, a full member of Keio SFC Academic Society must be a tenured faculty member of three faculties and two graduate schools in Shonan Fujisawa Campus, but non-tenured and part-time faculty member can also become as full member after the deliberation by Organizing Committee of Keio SFC Academic Society.
  3. In principle, an associate member of Keio SFC Academic Society must be individuals who had graduated or retired faculty member from Shonan Fujisawa Campus whom applied for qualification will be granted its right as an associate member afterwards by their wishes. Also, for those SFC research institute senior researcher, researcher and employee who work at SFC can apply for qualification by their wishes to become an associate member through the consideration by Organizing Committee of Keio SFC Academic Society..
  4. A student member of Keio SFC Academic Society must be undergraduate and graduate students in Shonan Fujisawa Campus.
  5. As a general rule, the honorary members of the Keio SFC Academic Society are faculty members who retired from SFC. The retired SFC faculty members are eligible to become an honorary member after being nominated and screend by the Organizing Committee of the Keio SFC Academic Society.

Article 4
Keio SFC Academic Society will undertake the following to achieve the purposes of Article 2.

  1. Publication of various publications
  2. Host a Lecture, Symposium and Seminar
  3. Others

Article 5
Keio SFC Academic Society can place following managerial positions:

  1. Chairman, one person
  2. Vice-chairman, two person
  3. Organizer, few person
  4. Auditor, two person
  5. Advisor, few person
  6. Councillor, three or more persons

Article 6

  1. Chairman is decided from full member at general meeting through the recommendation of Organizing Committee.
  2. Vice-chairman and Organizer are decided at general meeting through the recommendation of Chairman. Auditor is decided at general meeting through the recommendation of Organizing Committee.
  3. Advisor is commissioned by the Chairman.
  4. Councillors are chosen by other councillors and approved by the Chairman, provided that the first group of councillors is chosen by the Organizing Committee and approved of at the General Meeting.

Article 7
Chairman represents the Keio SFC Academic Society and supervises the meeting. Vice-chairman assists the Chairman. Organizer organizes the Organizing Committee and carry out the meeting. Advisor is to give advice to the Organizing Committee about the general management. The Organizing Committee will consult with and seek advice from the Councillors Committee when (1) making changes to structures and operations or engaging in new activities that considerably influence the Academic Society, and (2) spending funds from special accounts or extra-budgetary funds that exceed 5 million yen.

Article 8

  1. Organizing Committee is ought to propose a budget and settlement, and report them to the general meeting.
  2. Organizing Committee can establish a necessary organization to carry out the meeting.
  3. Organizing Committee can establish a necessary operational regulation to carry out the meeting which fit in the range of the regulation and purpose of Keio SFC Academic Society. Enactment and revision of this regulation must be approved by general meeting.

Article 9
Term of office for executives of the Keio SFC Academic Society is two years. But does not prevent reelection. Term of office, in principle, will start on October 1st.

Article 10
As the supreme legislative organ, general meetings are hold where full member as constituent. Chairman summons a general meeting annually. However, with the proposal of the Organizing Committee, an extraordinary general meeting can be summoned. The chair of the general meeting is served by chairman or vice-chairman.

Article 11

  1. Expenditure of Keio SFC Academic Society is devoted by the annual membership fees, annual membership fees (publication subscription fees, etc) and others.
  2. Management of accounting work is performed under the Keio SFC Academic Society Account Regulation.
  3. The amount of annual membership fees and annual membership fees (publication subscription fees, etc) are determined respectively.

Article 12
Revision of this regulation must be done through the general meeting.



Member

Members are, in principle, composed with full member, associate member and student member from three faculties and two graduate schools in Keio University Shonan Fujisawa Campus.

Annual membership fees for full member is 12,000 yen. Rights for subscription and submission for "KEIO SFC REVIEW" and "KEIO SFC JOURNAL", and rights for presenting in "research convention" are granted.

Annual membership fees for associate member is 10,000 yen. Rights for subscription and submission for "KEIO SFC REVIEW" and "KEIO SFC JOURNAL", and rights for presenting in "research convention" are granted.
